The image depicts a man with curly hair and a beard, wearing a mustard yellow sweater, sitting at a wooden desk and working on a laptop. He appears focused, holding a pen in his right hand, suggesting he might be taking notes or drawing. Behind him, a framed poster with the text "Made By Moreden" hangs on a white brick wall, adding a creative and modern touch to the setting. To the right, a black shelf with colorful books and a few decorative items is visible, indicating a workspace or study area. The overall ambiance is warm and cozy, with soft lighting enhancing the inviting atmosphere.
summary

A facility management company transitioned from WordPress to Webflow, alleviating maintenance burdens and enhancing site navigation and SEO.

I just completed an redesign project that goes to show why the right website platform choice can greatly improve the way a business operates.

The Challenge

My client, a facility management (FM) company serving London and the South East, was drowning in WordPress maintenance headaches. Despite having development skills, like my client, busy business owners often underestimate the time required for maintenance tasks such as updating plugins, themes, and WordPress core, monitoring security, and troubleshooting issues. Every hour spent on these tasks is time not spent on core business activities.

They also knew their website wasn't helping them stand out in the competitive FM market, but felt trapped by their platform limitations. The solution required more than just a platform switch. It needed a complete strategic rethink,

The Solution

We migrated them to Webflow and redesigned from scratch. Two key areas demanded immediate attention, starting with navigation.

Have a clear navigation strategy

Strategic Navigation Redesign

Instead of burying their services in generic menus, we put them front and centre. The new navigation hierarchy prioritises what matters most: Services first, then recent Projects to build trust.

The links were kept deliberately short, two words max, and were front-loaded with the most important word to give context as quick as possible.

We followed the Projects links with a results-focused About page (no office dog profiles or coffee preferences here —just how they solve customer problems).

With navigation sorted, we turned to the invisible architecture that drives organic growth.

SEO-Driven Content Architecture

We developed an internal linking strategy that signposts both visitors and search engines through a logical content journey. Each blog post and case study naturally connects to relevant service pages, distributing authority across the site while making information easy to find. Backlinko puts it this way:

A well-planned internal linking strategy can help pass the value of high-quality backlinks from one page to another. In short: internal linking is key for any site owner that wants higher rankings in Google.

Internal linking is a crucial SEO approach that strengthens site architecture, improves user journey, and improves the ranking potential of important pages.

Early Results

We are still gathering comprehensive analytics but, importantly, my client is finally free from WordPress maintenance anxiety and can focus on growing their business.
