The image depicts a man with curly hair and a beard, wearing a mustard yellow sweater, sitting at a wooden desk and working on a laptop. He appears focused, holding a pen in his right hand, suggesting he might be taking notes or drawing. Behind him, a framed poster with the text "Made By Moreden" hangs on a white brick wall, adding a creative and modern touch to the setting. To the right, a black shelf with colorful books and a few decorative items is visible, indicating a workspace or study area. The overall ambiance is warm and cozy, with soft lighting enhancing the inviting atmosphere.

As a Webflow developer in 2025, choosing the right tech stack can make or break your project workflow. After years of building custom Webflow websites for clients, I've refined my toolkit to include only the most essential Webflow development tools that streamline every phase of the web development process.

From initial strategy and project management to design execution and client collaboration, this comprehensive guide reveals the exact software stack I use to deliver high-performance Webflow projects efficiently and effectively.

Strategy and planning tools

Basecamp, Octopus

Apart from my brain - products like Basecamp and Octopus are in my tool belt for strategy. I use Basecamp to compile copy and content ideas. Octopus comes in handy when mapping out site structure, internal linking, and user journies.

Project management

Basecamp, Slack, Notion

It's not just my code that's organised. Each of my projects is managed using the project management tool, Basecamp; simplifying the overall process. However, I'm happy working and communicating in Slack or Notion if that's your preference.

Design and prototyping

Figma

After pen and paper, I move into Figma for detailed wireframes, mockups and prototypes. In Figma I can meet with collaborators and clients to discuss ideas and walkthrough layout options, colour pallettes and font choices.

Client communication and feedback

Meetings: FaceTime, Zoom, Whereby
Async: Loom, Screen Studio

When I need to instant feedback from a collaborator or client I will be using FaceTime, Zoom or Whereby.

For most meetings, asynchronous tools like Loom and Screen Studio work great. These allow my clients to watch and rewatch so they can think about and clarify their thoughts before responding; either in the the same way or via email.

CSS frameworks

MAST, Client-First

MAST A great 'developer-first' CSS framework for your project that's lightweight and based on web fundamentals. This is my goto for most my projects in 2025.

I've also developed multiple projects using both V1 and V2 of the Client-First style system. If you or your clients want to work in the Webflow designer then this is the CSS framework for you.

Web development

Webflow

Almost all of my website development is in Webflow. I've worked in Webflow for a number of years now and know my way around Designer, the CMS and it's inbuilt accessibility and SEO features. Along the way I've developed skills, a knowledge base and a few certificates.

Client training and documentation

Scribe, Notion

When I want to explain something, step-by-step, there are few tools better than Scribe. Screenshots with 'click-here' indicators make this a very easy way of documenting a process or providing a 'how-to' guide.

Common Webflow development questions

You might have a few questions about Webflow or how I work as a UK Webflow developer. If these aren't the questions, or the answers, you are looking for please email me.

Webflow business plans start at $39/month for the Business plan, with Enterprise options available for larger organisations requiring advanced features. However, most SME businesses can operate on the $23/month CMS plan.

I wouldn't say Webflow is better than Wordpress, necessarily. The platform used depends on the project.

However, I would say that Webflow offers visual development without the code dependencies. It has Cloudflare hosting built-in, and excellent security. Unlike WordPress, there's no need for plugins that can slow down your site or create security vulnerabilities.
